WANDA, the Gaetano Conte Academy and the Gaetano Torre Center in Naples, have started a joint venture the "WANDA - Conte Academy Forum" (in short "World Forum"). This forum focusses on the promotion of and the support for research into the origins, treatment and prevention of NMD.

The aims of this joint venture are a.o.
a. to serve as a forum to facilitate
* dialogue and the exchange and dissimination of information about neuromuscular disorders inlcuding, but not limited to, scientific, clinical and psycho social topics
* policy making and strategic planning particularly in regard to the development of effective therapeutic approaches in neuromuscular disease
b. to promote the cooperation between organisations working directly or indirectly for the benefit of people involved in neuromuscular disease
c.to contribute to the education and/or empowerment of people with a neuromuscular disease with an emphasis om people in developing countries

To achieve these aims a centre will be established
1. to organise and promote meetings
2. to develop and maintain a website
